Securing our tech devices and responsibly recycling them is more important than ever - and the consumer tech industry wants to help.
Dear PSA Director,
The Consumer Technology Association (CTA)® is North America’s largest technology trade association. Our members are the world’s leading innovators – from startups to global brands – helping support more than 18 million American jobs. CTA also owns and produces CES® – the most influential tech event in the world. Our PSAs are aimed at helping consumers responsibly recycle their old devices and properly securing them to protect consumer privacy.
Each year, millions of people buy a Wi-Fi enabled or Bluetooth connected device, but many are not sure how to protect the security of their products. Here at CTA we want to make sure consumers understand there are a few easy steps they can take to protect their privacy and home. The accompanying 30-second public service announcement provides advice everyone can effortlessly use to ensure their technology is safe.
Getting your hands on the latest tech is always exciting. But recycling your old electronics is important, too. You can reduce the environmental impact of your old devices so its materials can be used again and create less need to mine more natural resources. The accompanying PSAs educate consumers about the importance of recycling and just how easy it is to find an electronics recycler nearby.
We ask you to join us in our efforts to keep consumers secure and create a more sustainable planet. Thank you in advance for your consideration
